Report on the Inauguration of the New Tower and Launch of Smt. Jyotiben Gulabbhai Gajaria Girls Hostel

National festivals hold immense significance at BBRV, symbolizing the country’s rich heritage, unity, and patriotism. Every year, BBRV celebrates 26th January and 15th August with great fervour and enthusiasm. However, this year was exceptional as we witnessed the inauguration of the new BBRV tower, launch of the new girls’ hostel and the republic day celebration.
Celebrating such occasions fosters national pride and unity, providing an opportunity to reflect on India’s journey while inspiring future generations to uphold the values of democracy, peace, and harmony. BBRV students showcased their skills through a short cultural program, presenting their talents to parents, local guardians, and well-wishers of BBRV.
Inaugural Ceremony and Cultural Celebrations-
The event commenced with a prayer song in the form of Saraswati Vandana, followed by a short parade to invite our senior trustees Shri Gulabbhai Gajaria and Smt. Jyotiben Gajaria onto the dais to unfurl the national flag. The national anthem was sung in solemn respect to the flag, setting a patriotic tone for the day.
Following a short break for tea and breakfast, attendees gathered outside the new tower for the much-awaited inauguration. The auspicious sounds of shehnai and dhol created a vibrant atmosphere. The welcome banner and fresh floral decorations around the BBRV tower gave it a grand, festive look. Attendees, dressed in traditional attire, added a sense of pride and accomplishment to the occasion.
Opening of the New BBRV Tower-
With a shared vision and determination, the dream of the new BBRV tower became a reality, overcoming challenges along the way. Preparations for the inauguration began months in advance, with invitations extended to Bhatia community mandals, mahajans, donors, well-wishers, governors, alumni, and parents.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the grand opening of the tower. Upon entering the lobby, guests were greeted by the Gratitude Wall, honouring donors who contributed over Rs. 10,000 towards its creation. Adjacent to this was the BBRV Archive Annex, showcasing the rich history and growth of Bhatia Boarding since 1906, along with the mission, vision, and philosophy established by the trustees.
The lift lobby featured vibrant tessellated tiles and a monumental frame of Lord Shrinathji, welcoming everyone with positivity. Guests toured the multipurpose hall, kitchen, dining area, prayer space, superintendent room, and various themed floors. The 8th-floor reading lounge was admired for providing students with a dedicated study environment.
Students’ Cultural Performance and Formal proceedings –
After a two-hour new tower tour, attendees reconvened in the first-floor AC hall for the main program. The compere for the day was our honorary secretary Mrs Nisha Chintan Bhatia. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our honorary trustees, Mr. Piyush and Mr. Sharad Bhatia, along with Mr. and Mrs. Haresh Asher, in front of Lord Ganesha on the melodious tune of “Shubham karoti kalyanam”.
Honorary Trustee Shri Mulrajbhai Nanavati welcomed the gathering, expressing joy and pride in this milestone achievement. The cultural segment featured a variety of performances:
- A dance dramapaying tribute to Shri Ratan Tata, highlighting his philanthropic contributions by school students.
- A brief report on BBRV’s progress in 2024-25was well presented by Honorary trustee Shri Mukeshbhai Gandhi mentioning the count of students and major achievements of the same.
- A fusion danceperformed by postgraduate students, celebrating the joy of moving into a new home away from home.
- A social awareness dance, portraying the impact of social media on students’ thinking capacity was wonderful.
- A grand finale, with all BBRV students performing Lehrado Lehrado, adding a patriotic touch to the celebration.
After the cultural event, All the core office bearers the trustees and secretaries present on that day were invited on the stage.
Our seniormost honorary Trustee Shri Gulabbhai Gajaria was invited to share his feelings on the joyous moment of inauguration of the new tower.
Making of the new Tower –
Our Honorary trustee Shri Hitesh Suresh Asher threw light on the making of the tower, which involved presentation on the funds raised, hurdles bypassed and finally the process of internal beautification of the tower. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the honorary people involved in the making of the same. A special mention of Mr Piyush Bhatia and Sharad Bhatia from Bhatia builders, Architect Shri Prashant Sutaria and architect Smt Hemanti P Sutaria, Mr Devang Sutharia structural engineer, Mr Rahul Asher owner Shreeji Interiors, Mr Kishore Bhatia connected with construction industry, Mr Rajesh Pipalia consultanting Engineer and Piyushbhai Babla, Sharad Ramaiya and Kishore Ashar for electrical fittings.
Our heartfelt gratitude to Bombay Gowrakshak Mandali – Kandivali east for the daily supply of milk/milk powder for boarding boys. Also flashback to our memory lane thanking our Principal donors back then for the old building Sheth Shree Chatrabhuj Gordhandas through Mooljee Jaitha family.
The passion and hardwork put in the entire process could be reflected in his speech where he could tell tales of the same may be for the entire day if time was not a constraint. He also mentioned and appreciated our honorary secretaries- Shri Pankaj Asher and Smt Nisha Bhatia for hand holding in the entire process of the tower.
The audience was in awe to understand the process and meticulous planning behind the same.
Official Launch announcement of Smt. Jyotiben Gulabbhai Gajaria Girls Hostel
Honorary Trustee Shri Jayeshbhai Kapadia officially launched the new girls’ hostel, announcing its name as BBRV – Smt. Jyotiben Gulabbhai Gajaria Girls Hostel, in recognition of a generous Rs. 51 lakh donation by Smt. Jyotiben Gulabbhai Gajaria. Admissions for the girls hostel will soon roll out for the academic year 2025-26.
Smt Jyotiben Gajaria our Principal donor also shared her dream and wish to have a girls hostel for Bhatia girls to be soon accomplished under the able committee of office bearers.
Felicitation and Appeal for girls hostel donation –
Honorary trustee Shri Sunilbhai Paleja presented a professional video showcasing the newly completed tower. He also felicitated eminent donors who contributed towards student kits and the girls’ hostel, presenting them with floral bouquets as a token of appreciation. A soft appeal was made to encourage further donations for the renovation of the girls’ hostel, and contributions were collected for this noble cause.
Closing Ceremony – Vote of Thanks
The formal proceedings concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Yogesh Gandhi, the governor and well-wisher of BBRV. The event ended with a lavish lunch, leaving attendees with cherished memories and a sense of accomplishment. Another momentous day was added to the BBRV Archive Annex Wall, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.

Like every year prize distribution ceremony was conducted to felicitate students for academic performance and extra curricular achievements round the year.
